ChatGPT two year anniversary: GenAI’s Impact on Society

​Dr. Frank Chen is the President and CEO of LINKMedicine.AI, where he has pioneered the application of AI and data technologies to revolutionize medical referrals and patient navigation. Dr Chen combines deep technical expertise with strategic business insights to make modern medicine more accessible. His groundbreaking vision has been widely recognized through peer-reviewed publications, pioneering AI patents, and globally renowned public health projects. By integrating cutting-edge AI into healthcare, Dr Chen and his team continue to set revolutionary standards across the industry, driving transformative, patient-centered care.

​Prior to LINKMedicine.AI, he served multiple executive positions including founding Director for Research, BGI Research at Americas, the US arm of then the world’s largest genomics organization, based in Washington DC. In the Johns Hopkins community, Dr. Chen actively promotes innovation and entrepreneurship serving as the chairman of the board at the Hopkins Club for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, mentor in the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program, and advisor to a number of science and technology-based startups.

​Dr Chen got his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and an ongoing EMBA at the University of Maryland/Smith School of Business.

Gordon Gao, Ph.D.

​Professor at the Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins University and Co-Director of the Center for Digital Health and AI (CDHAI)

​Before joining Carey, he was the Dean’s Professor of AI in Healthcare, co-director of the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems (CHIDS), and the director of the Health Insights AI Lab, at the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Gao’s research interests include Big Data and AI in health care, health IT, and quality transparency. His research has been funded by NSF, NIH and AHRQ. Dr. Gao is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award.

Ray Serrano, Ph.D.

​Director of Research & Policy, LULAC National Office & Analyst at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

​Throughout his professional journey, he has held diverse roles, including serving as a technical officer at the World Health Organization, working as an analyst at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and serving as a health systems consultant. Additionally, he has contributed to HIV-related initiatives with the United Nations Development Program. Dr. Serrano’s academic background, including his Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Health Policy, his Masters in Public Health from Yale University, and his Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, underscores his expertise in healthcare policy. In this talk, he will discuss AI impact on workforce.

Fei Xing, Ph.D.

​VP of Client Partnership, Ginkgo Health

​Dr. Fei Xing is a dynamic leader known for his exceptional ability to quickly establish deep, meaningful connections with colleagues. Holding a Ph.D. in mathematics, he combines analytical expertise with strategic execution to solve complex challenges effectively.

​Dr. Xing recently joined Ginkgo Health, where he oversees client success for the company’s flagship product, Ginkgo Active—the first AI-powered prescribed exercise App. Prior to this, as the Director of Analytics at Mathematica, he led a team of data scientists in advancing projects that improved operational efficiency, enhanced analytical rigor, and informed decision-making for federal and state policymakers, as well as commercial stakeholders.

​In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Xing actively contributes to the community through leadership roles on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including the North America Federation of Tsinghua Alumni Association (NAFTHAA), Chinese American Data Science and Engineering Association (CADSEA), Monte Jade Greater Washington DC, and the Tsinghua Alumni Association in Greater Washington DC. His dedication reflects a strong commitment to fostering community engagement and professional development.
